Lil Phat

Louisiana rapper Lil Phat was killed on June 7,2012 in Atlanta, Georgia. Born Melvin Vernell, Lil Phat was shot multiple times in a car that had been parked near the Northside Hospital Women’s Center. At the time of his death, police never specified any leads but referred to it as “an assassination.”

Slim Dunkin

Atlanta police say the rapper Slim Dunkin was gunned down in a city music studio as he prepared to record a video. Police Maj. Keith Meadows said the performer, whose real name is Mario Hamilton, was fatally shot in the chest after getting into an argument with another individual over candy.

Killa Keise

Bay Area rapper Killa Keise was found shot to death last night inside a crashed Pontiac off the side of the Interstate in Vallejo after been fired at several times while driving eastbound on 80. The 28 year old San Francisco rapper, who has an address in Benecia, was born Markeise Henry and started his rap career with care of his brother, Frisco rap legend Cellski.

Bad News Brown

Two years ago, Bad News Brown’s body was found near the Lachine Canal, cutting short the career of one of Quebec’s most promising young hip hop artists. His murder was a mystery then and remains one now. No suspects were named, no motives have ever been divined and no arrests made by the Montreal police—with no closure for family and friends.

Magnolia Shorty

More than 50 bullets were fired into Magnolia Shorty's car. The 28-year-old former member of the Cash Money Records label crashed the car into a wooden fence in the 6300 block of Bridgehampton Drive. She was pronounced dead on sight.

Dolla

Rapper Dolla (born Roderick Anthony Burton II), 21, was shot and killed while waiting in the valet area of the upscale Beverly Center mall in Los Angeles on Monday in a brash daylight assault that had diners and shoppers diving for cover as shots rang out.

VL Mike

VL Mike, born Michael Allen, 32, was murdered when a man shot him to death, as he exited his vehicle between Paris Avenue and Overton Drive. The rapper was taken to University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Lil Jojo

Lil' JoJo earned viral fame after the release of his song “3HunnaK.” The Englewood resident, born Joseph Coleman, was murdered in a hail of gunfire in a drive-by shooting on Sept. 4, 2012 as he was riding on the back pegs of a friend's bike.

Stack Bundles

Dip Set Byrdgang member Stack Bundles was killed early Monday morning (June 11) in his hometown of Far Rockaway in the New York City borough of Queens. He was 24.

Police said that the shooter is unknown and fled the scene.

Big Hawk (Screwed Up Click)

Big Hawk of Houston's Screwed Up Click was shot outside a friend's house in South Houston late Monday night, the Houston Chronicle reported. The Screwed Up Click rapper was apparently waiting for his friend to show up when he was gunned down.

Proof

During his career, he was a member of the groups Goon Sqwad, 5 Elementz, Promatic, and most notably, D12. He was a close childhood friend of rapper Eminem, who lived on the same block. In 2006, Proof was shot and killed during an altercation at the CCC nightclub in Detroit.

Mac Dre

Andre Hicks, widely known as rapper Mac Dre, helped popularize the Bay Area brand of party-centric hip-hop called hyphy and formed record label Thizz Entertainment in 1999. He was shot and killed after a concert in Kansas City, Mo., in 2004.

Soulja Slim

Rapper Soulja Slim (real name: James Tapp) was shot and killed last week on the front lawn of the two-story duplex he'd bought for his mother in New Orleans' Gentilly neighborhood. The Nov. 26 murder eerily echoed the violence of his profanity-laced songs, which told of gangs, drugs and drive-by shootings.

Sabotage

The rapper Sabotage (The Brazilian Tupac) was murdered with 5 bullets in the south zone of São Paulo. He had just dropped off his wife at work. Apparently it was vengeance, a dispute for drug trafficking in a slum in São Paulo but the family denies such thing as he had not been involved in crime for more than 10 years prior to his murder.

Jam Master Jay

On October 30, 2002, at 7:30 pm. Mizell was shot and killed in a Merrick Boulevard recording studio in Jamaica, Queens. The other person in the room, 25-year-old Urieco Rincon, was shot in the ankle and survived.

Freaky Tah

On the night of March 28, 1999, on his way to a friend's birthday party, Freaky Tah was shot in the back of his head while he was going towards the exit of Sheraton Hotel in Queens, New York. He was pronounced dead at the nearby Jamaica Hospital. The getaway driver, Raheem Fletcher, was sentenced to 7 years in prison. It was also revealed that a man named Kelvin Jones was the killer. Jones pleaded guilty to murder. Freaky Tah was 27 at the time of his death, and is consequently a member of the infamous 27 Club.

Big L

Big L was killed at 45 West 139th Street in his native Harlem on February 15, 1999 after being shot nine times in the face and chest. Gerard Woodley, one of Big L's childhood friends, was arrested in May for the crime.

The Notorious B.I.G.

A dark colored Chevrolet Impala SS pulled up alongside Wallace's SUV. The driver of the Impala, a black male dressed in a blue suit and bow tie, rolled down his window, drew a 9 mm blue-steel pistol and fired at the GMC Suburban; four bullets hit Wallace.[11] Wallace's entourage rushed him to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where doctors performed an emergency thoracotomy, but he was pronounced dead at 1:15 a.m. (PST).

DJ Scott La Rock

In an attempt to squash a fight, Sterling was wounded in a Jeep outside of the Bronx’s Highbridge projects in 1987. Sterling died in the operating room within one hour of being shot.

On the night of September 7, 1996, rapper Tupac Shakur was shot multiple times in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas, Nevada that led to his death six days later on September 13, 1996. The murder remains unsolved.

OTF NuNu

Another young rapper has been slain at the hands of gun violence. Upcoming rapper OTF Nunu was killed on the South Side of Chicago on May 31 when an unidentified suspect approached his vehicle and opened fire outside of the Chatham Village Square Mall. OTF Nunu, whose real name was McArthur Swindle and who also went by Nuski, was just 21 years old.

Doe B

McWilliams allegedly opened fire in Montgomery's Centennial Hill Bar and Grill at around 1:30 a.m. on December 28th, killing 22-year-old Hustle Gang rapper Doe B (real name Glenn Thomas) and 21-year-old Troy University student Kimberle Johnson.

Killah P

Killah P, whose real name was Pavlos Fyssas, died early September 18 at age 34. According to the BBC, police have arrested a 45-year-old man who they say has confessed to the crime. Police describe the man as a member of the far-right Golden Dawn organization. Golden Dawn has denied any involvement with the stabbing.

Lil Snupe

Winnfield City Police Department officers responded to calls of a shooting at the Maplewood Apartments at 1901 South Jones Street at approximately 4:07 a.m. Thursday morning. On arrival, they found Lil Snupe (born Addarren Ross) had been mortally wounded with two shots to the torso area.

M-Bone (Cali Swag District)

At about 10:30 p.m. PT Sunday night, police were called to the 400 block of North La Brea in Inglewood. When police arrived on the scene, they found Talbert seated in the driver’s seat of a black unspecified vehicle with at least two gunshot wounds to the head. Paramedics then took him to a local hospital where Talbert eventually succumbed to his injuries.
